We smile innumerable times a day. Did you ever wonder each time we smile, we do it for a different reason. Some of them are heart melting, some just for courtesy sake that doesnt quite reach our eyes.. There are fake posy smiles that we immediately assume when the camera lens is focussed on us.Then there are smiles we employ to express sarcasms. I guess we use this one the most during our stay at office everyday.
And then there are the genuine smiles which clearly depict the reasons of our happiness.A mother's smile as she looks at her sleeping baby, a girl's smile when her boyfriend surprises her with chocolates and flowers, a child's smile when her mother returns home after a lng day at work.
A baby's smile can actually light up your day. Why do some games make them irrepressibly smile? And that cute oh so adorable toothless smile they have on their lips while cradling on the crib.
An adult's smile on the otherhand is easier to decipher. A genuine compliment, a much awaited promotion, a thoughful gift, a great new haircut, a funny oneliner in a sitcom, a wonderful meal, an unexpected raise; the list is long but predictable.
Sometines, though it is the silliest of things that makes me smile. Rummaging through an old hangbag and accidentally stumbling upon a 100 rupee note, finding a birthday card gifted by a classmate when i was in class 6, discovering an old picture of a family holiday or simply remembering fond memories.
I guess its true what they say happiness does lie in smaller details. Live life in moments as these eventually assemble into long lived cherished memories.Watch the sunset from your balcony, snuggle up on the couch with a hot mug of coffee on a rainy afternoon, cuddle up with your teddy bear in your fav tee and flannel pyjamas. Coll off with a scoop of your favourite icecream on a sweltering summer afternoon, Get your nails done. Gossip with your friend.
Take your pleasures where and when you canm. No matter how small and insignificant they might seem at that time, they will bring a smile to your face. And it can light up your world.:):)
